Since I recently retired I decided to try my hand at making some pot calls. After dozens of trial runs this is the first that I would send out the door. It's Spalted Maple, thanks to John Buchin, 3.25" Bronze Glass over Slate, two sided call. The picture is of my hunting buddy with his Rio from this year, he requested my first call. Thought I'd surprise him with the picture on it. It sounds great on both sides, raspy high pitched glass, softer on the slate side, good clucks, purrs and a sweet soft yelp. I'm happy with it, for a starter.
Forgot to mention, the striker is Black & White Ebony.
Thanks, for looking

Thanks for the nice comments, finally been able to come up with some good wood. Will be interesting to see
How much the sound changes with the different woods. A lot of fun, now I see why you guys like this so much.
