Title: Tough states.............
Post by: turkeyfanatic on May 08, 2013, 08:20:27 PM
Spent last week with one of my best friends turkey hunting and as always had a hoot along with some great discussions.

What states have you hunted in for turkeys and which state did you feel was the toughest when it came to turkey hunting.  No need to discuss why or go into detail on your thoughts.

NC
TX
WV
PA

The toughest being PA.

Hunted West Virginia, Oklahoma and Texas so far this year.
Texas was the hardest.  Just not many birds where we were at

West Virginia isn't easy but  I am used to hunting henned up birds that won't gobble off of the roost.

Hands down Texas. But it was in the 30s with the wind blowing 40 mph the first day we hunted. We left the next day at noon. Our "outfitter" pulled a disappearing act.

SC.......with no seasons for hens, way to much competition in their natural environment.

Bill,

I think we are running into that problem in NC. No fall season for hens and its starting to show.
