The first morning on a recent trip to MS with Rickey I pulled a double whammy. After a textbook hunt off the limb I attempted to run down the gobbler a few seconds before I was confident was dead after I shot him only to have him get behind some brush, get on his feet and run off with me giving chase. During the chase I took a nasty fall. Rickey said he felt the ground shake? I continued the chase until I thought I would pass out after getting the breath knocked out of me with the fall. After a few minutes to collect my breath and good sense I went back to gather up my gear and start the search. On the way back I discovered that I had lost the #4 cocobola flat mouthpiece from my Buice trumpet. That didn't help the sting of a poor shot. While looking for the turkey I managed to lose a dymondwood striker from Gary Anderson that was perfectly matched with the ceramic pot I had just received from him. I did not find mouthpiece, striker, or gobbler. I wish I could say losing things was uncommon for me but my wife would say differently. Anyone else have this affliction?

I lost a nice cane yelper 2 years ago! I did`nt know it was missing until I reached for it! Must have got caught on some brush I was moving through. Back tracking did`nt help! *aah*

YUP....Wednsday morning. Was moving on a gobbler. Lost my "thundergut" Macassar Slate/Glass Pot... :'( :'( :'( Lucky I had a Hudson Ebony with me also. AND I didn"t kill that gobbler either *poo* *poo* *wha* *wha* *wha*

I am very good at it.. Strikers are #1, Hootnstick and crow #2.. I lost 3 crow calls on our west trip one year and had to go the store and try to find something.
Oh and Ive lost 2 MKW trumpets in 2 years

I've been real luckey. I've lost an HS crow call,wenge striker and a few scrub pads but that's it so far. I would have lost my ivory mouth piece for my Buice trumpet if it weren't for Del's double loop lanyard that I had made. I looked down at one point and both pieces were hanging after the mouth piece pulled out of the barrel. :o

I've gone back to get stuff but haven't lost much.

Ive felt your pain Drenaloid that's why once I found calls, strikers etc etc I like I buy 3 and 4 of everything *wha* *wha* *wha*

KNOCK ON WOOD.............never lost a call or striker, but have sat on my fair share, of old Lynch box calls! They break real easily........ ROTFLMBO ROTFLMBO ROTFLMBO

Gloves, facemasks, strikers, knives, shells and a few other items. I think of it as giving back. Sometimes the Lord of the Woods giveth...sometimes he taketh away. ;).

Ugh! Lost a really nice Benchmade about 10 years ago turkey hunting. Bought a replacement on ebay almost double original value. Dropped it in knee deep water cutting up sausage in duck timber with knee deep water. Never found it.

I plant a few scratch box strikers in the woods each year, but, as far as I can tell, none of them has ever sprouted! *lol*

I'm usually pretty good at keeping up with my stuff.....but like you I missed a bird on public land in Ms, and shortly after realized my wallet was gone.. >:( I was three miles from my truck on my bicycle....I did find it an hour later next to some tiolet paper.... ROTFLMBO

Yes, it seems like there is total memory loss after the shot. Many trips back to the killing fields for calls and cushions mostly.

Lost one of a matching set of mike lapp calls last year,moved on bird couple of times only to find call missing a few hours later,searched for some time with no luck.Was my favorite box call,had a little meltdown in the woods until bird starting gobbling on next ridge and I managed to move on.

I misplaced the same striker twice on Saturday, but luckily recovered it each time.

I lost a set of Cody Drop Dead strikers in NY one year. Fell asleep and when I woke up I forgot to pick them up and left them lay at the tree. Havn't gotten up there to hunt in 3-4 years but I'm heading up this year and I'm gonna go see if theyre still laying by that tree...even if its just for the nice striker holster they were in. Took me awhile to remember which tree I was most likely at the last time I had them ??? so we will see

Lost a favorite pot this AM, Spent the rest of the AM in search of it.. God is good. I was blessed to find it.

I generally keep up with my stuff pretty good. They cost too much to be losing. I did lose a conditioning stone one morning. Spent the next hour and a half looking for it. Found it.....
