Title: Stabilized Purple Maple Scratchbox

Here's a call I just completed from a beautiful piece of Stabilized maple I got from Bob Buckner during the convention in Nashville . Bob was selling some really nice pieces of heavily striped stabilized maple for trumpet turners and I found this piece that really stood out to me . Bob told me how Darrell Gibson had cut down this maple tree and split it into firewood and offered some to Bob . When he saw it , he realized how figured it was so he cut it up and put it through the stabilizing process . He told me he would like to see one of my scratchboxes made from his wood , so here she is Bob. If anyone needs some sweet stabilized wood , call Bob . He can also stabilize your wood if needed . That is some wild looking wood even without the purple stain.  Made a great looking scratcher.
