i use them and have had the turkey woods light it up,plus they dont give you away,to mr. snood *gobble*
-
I like em, especially a good one. They work well for me, especially in an area that has not seen a lot of pressure. And even if turkeys don't gobble, it's always fun getting a bunch of owls fired up. I've even had nothing gobble at first, gotten several owls fired up and then heard a turkey gobble. Don't leave home without it. Also works well for road roosting at night.

Worked great in Missouri, not so much in Oklahoma.....
-
best owl call i have used was put out by lohman
-
they worked here in western PA..I like them.
-
made me want to gobble... ;D
-
Looks pretty good to me.
Owl hooters early in the morning are the only thing that will shock them around here.
-
Well, come on and tell us...are you going to start making these?? * hi *
-
It's my only option if i want to sound like an owl.....
-
I like the idea of them...but I havnt spent a good ammount of time using them or perfecting the use of one because the birds in our part of PA get so much pressure that if you hoot at them in the morning they could shut up and not gobble all day. It's like they know the difference between a call and a real owl because theyve heard so many people blowing them at them. with that said...very nice call you made there
-
Nice clean look....and I like the brass ban...
-
Here in AR I use one sparingly. I don't have success with them West of here. That one looks great! Would love to hear it.
-
In my area of PA they are hit and miss, crow calls work better.

If you have to figure out how to make one sound right and playing around with it to get it right. OH yeah going to try. Should be fun at the lake with a mason jar, few friends and small fire. Keep the neighbors awake. *fall*
-
My opinion is that one sounded mighty good down south!! *cheers*
Richard, I am with Al............all OWL! Nicely done!

I use owl calls here in Virginia about half the time with good results. Depends on where I'm hunting and how much pressure they are getting. Sometimes they work very well and then sometimes I will use a good crow caller instead. The "hooter" you made looks good Richard.
-
I'm from PA also and in my opinion use a crow call you will have much better luck getting a bird to shock gobble. It must be because of the enormous amount of pressure that our birds get because I have used them in other states with limited success but have always had better luck with a crow call. Just my opinion but they do work!!! All that aside that is still a nice looking call!!!
-
I use them from time to time, but around here seems like everyone used them so much... they don't respond as much.. but what the heck it doesn't scare them for sure!!!
Now put me down for one in Osage punk RkLu
