Title: spring set up
Post by: strutnrut on February 06, 2013, 01:36:12 PM
Buddy wanted some calls for his dad and asked me to help out. Cactus and crystal with a very rare striker that can't out of the swamps and is mud cured. Splated Poplar and Ky Locust lid hen box. Man I need a new camera  ROTFLMBO they look much better that the picture.

Mmmm, I like mud cured OSAGE......... How much you want for one of them strikers, Richard?

That striker is Osage, it was pulled at the same time I pulled the Osage but it is some kind of other wood. Not really sure what it is but I got very little of it. I don't have any Mud Cured Osage to use for strikers right now. Once I cut call blanks out of what I have left I might get a striker blank or two. I just don't know. Sorry This striker is Gray in color and when turned it came off in flakes about like and Oak but I don't think Oak would have made it that long in the swamp.

Nice set of calls Richard. That wood looks like some that Pappy posted up on the other forum. He was calling it
Missouri Bog Oak.
