A while back I contacted Mr. Ralph Permar and asked him to make me a Kee-er call. To say I like the call would not be accurate. I am just amazed at the little call with the big sound. It IMO is the most realistic sounding Kee Kee call I have ever heard. Thanks Ralph for a great one. The wood is Lignum Vitae, and will always be with me when ever I hunt Turkeys. *up*

you do not have to go to Nashville to get one - call the man up and buy one - He don't bite!
They are so inexpensive for what you get it is a no-brainer in my opinion. They make great gifts for your turkey buddies too. He gave one to my 2 year old son last year and he plays it no problem - it is that easy. Hope to get a nice "purty" one for my daughter this Spring on one of those acrylic "girly" colors - Ahem, Ralph! *cheers*

The call sets in your middle three fingers. You seal your lips against your hand, not the call. You must seal around the call with your hand. some cupping with your other hand somewhat like a trumpet. You draw air in like a trumpet, but very little air, and you will develop a whistle, like a real turkey............... It took me until my third session, but I love the way I can Kee kee now. Good luck.

Here are the directions. If you are not getting sound out of your call, you can phone me. It takes about as much air as breathing. I will be at the "Tools of the Trade" in Nashville.
The Kee-er is about 2.5" in length, and .7 “ in diameter. Lanyard is included. It doesn't take much air to run the call. My recommended method, of running the call to get the best sound, is to place the Kee-er, round end up, in the hand where fingers meet palm. Let lanyard hang out back of hand between first and second fingers. Make a fist with call inside. Then press the top of fist to mouth, insuring a good seal, and draw air through the call as in breathing, not whistling. Upper and lower limits of the call can be found by drawing in the least amount of air to start the call whistling, then slowly increase the amount of breath until the sound shuts off. A two-note Kee-Kee is achieved by varying the speed of air through the call.

Ralph, I got mine yesterday and it is a sweet caller for sure. I think I need a little more practice, I was able to get the sound the first try.
