Title: Snow storm in the South.
Post by: drenalinld on December 26, 2012, 10:05:53 AM: It was a memorable Christmas Day here in central AR. We went from rain with lightning and thunder to sleet mixture to snow blizzard. This morning we are left with 18" average measured in several open areas throughout my yard. It is much deeper by the house.

Post by: Turkeybuster on December 26, 2012, 12:40:27 PM: This storm ran me out of Leesburg Va. at 8:00 AM. and followed me the whole way back to Pa. We had a white out between the Md. line and Gettysburg and got ahead of it before we got to Harrisburg. Glad we made it we are getting heavy snow now. Hope to chase some whitetail's in the morning.

Post by: drenalinld on December 26, 2012, 07:07:22 PM: This is my driveway today. A little over a 1/4 mile and very steep. Last night with 5 or 6" of snow my wife's new AWD Sienna zipped right up it. Today with three times that much snow, it is stranded a few feet from the garage. I got out a little before dark to see if I could make it to work tomorrow. My Z71 with 33" tires went down the driveway great and the highway is very manageble. Unfortunately, I could not make it back up the driveway more than a couple hundred feet. My BIL made a valiant attempt to drive me home with his 46' Wyllis jeep, but it would do little better. I got to walk up that driveway in the deep snow! Good training for turkey season, but I don't like being stranded.

Post by: West Augusta on December 27, 2012, 06:43:44 AM: 29 degrees and raining this morning. My truck looked like a glazed doughnut. Only one turn gave me a little problem on the way to work.
