Made by Ralph Permar, this call is made from Toonwood w/ a wing bone mouth piece and a Copper ferrule.

That's a nice looking call Bill it appears you must have run across quite a surplus of this Toonwood. Ralph did another fine build.. *cheers*

It is sort of hard to find. I found one supplier on Hawaii that has it in sizes big enough to turn something larger than pens.

Guys, Thanks for the kind words and to Bill for posting this call. I also include with each call a history of how Dwain came to develope this design and why he gave me permission to reproduce it. This project was on my list since 2005.

I believe this is where the copper ferrule idea began. I think Ralph told me, that he only made couple calls w/ copper ferrules. Notice that Dwain attached a copper name tag to his call, just as Ralph has done on the Bland Special.

The above trumpet was made in 2001. I have made fewer than five calls, with copper ferrules, up until the Bland Special.
