In going up to Marlins this year, I had already heard from a few buddies about Marlins new one siders he had made. The opnions from some thugs left me anxious to get my hands on one. We played around with them the first evening there and impressed was the least I could say. THEN,,,,the next morning in the woods, I got to hear one in action......Its sounded unreal. With no more than he had, the salesman in me began figuring how I was going to talk him out of one *peep* ;D. I have two favorite one siders from a couple of guys here, now I have another to add to that favorite list.
This gem of a call is Beech with a Ipe lid on her. Marlin added his woodburning to the call to finish it up and sent it to me. I am one happy dude let me say.
This call has great tone and only gets better the softer ya talk with her....it gets so sweet soft. It will see lots of woods time I promise Marlin. Thanks so much for parting with this special little hunter my friend.

Jeff, I was going to tell you how lucky you are, to get a box call from callmaker of the year, and how nice it must be to "hang" with someone like Marlin, also was going to say how rare that beech and Ipe combo was as a combination, and how trick the woodburning looked and how the red inlay just set everything apart, and how the notch in the stop rail was designed , BUT, I'm sooooo darn jealous, I ain't tellin' you any of it !!! really, all joking aside, you should feel special to be blessed with friends like you have !! :grouphug:

I think it was just a matter of time for Mr. Watkins to grind out a one-sider and to no surprise he went with Ipe and Beech...nothing like laying down your trump cards for the lead and from what I hear this call will get the job done and close the deal! *up* Nice work Marlin
