Here is the turpin box I picked up at Mr. Billy's on my visit. It is walnut over striped maple. This is a fine box. I played several but once I played this one, I knew this was the one.

Mark, That is an outstanding looking call. I wish I had the oppertunity to run some calls prior to making a decision. In a conversation with Billy he made the statement that he sells sound, and after a little thought on that statement, I think he is one of those rare call makers that have found a balance between looks and sound. *up*

I must have played 7 or 8 other calls. Even played one just like this one. But, soon as I started pulling the paddle across this one, I knew this was the one. I just quit playing calls. I didn't see any reason to continue. You know how you just come across the call that was meant for you?
