Got my hands on few more blanks of this wood was told its Thumbnail Maple  realy nice wood pics dont do it justice

Cool call!  I think I have seen that wood too!  Tried to figure outs it name.....but now I just call it "hound dog maple"...cause it's full of bark! *wha* ::)
