Here is a Cost style shortbox that I made from one really wormy piece of butternut . I got this wood last fall while I was visiting with David Ferguson . I spotted this one piece in his shop and had to ask about it . David told me that it was an ugly piece of wood that he had no use for so I asked if I could use it . I love the looks of the wormy wood so I brought it home and matched it with some Missouri walnut and here is the result. This one has all the sounds I look for in my calls and the turkeys responded well to it . Thanks for the wood David , it worked out great IMO.
