Title: Box Elder Burl dyed blue
Post by: merocustomcalls on October 05, 2012, 08:42:52 AM
Here's a box elder trumpet with the blank dyed blue and stabilized.  Ivory mouthpiece on this one.  Everything in the shop got a nice coat of blue dust.

Click on the picture to enlarge, thanks for looking.

The wood is stabilized and dyed.  It is actually fairly hard and dense.  The sound is great and is similar to cocobolo.
