Title: #1 Pocket Turpin
Post by: Jake St. John on September 07, 2012, 08:28:23 AM
Here is the #1 Prototype Pocket Turpin One Sider that I just finished for my hunting partner Wade S. Wineman Jr.  Seems like he has a lot my new innovations.  I hope to trade this call to him for an autographed copy of his East of the Slash for L.T. Pac or Firedup on here. The cavity size was left the same as the orginal,  because I did not want to compromise that Turpin Yawk.  I shortened end caps and paddle length, leaving the paddle thickness a little on the plus size to keep the same paddle weight.  #1 is some nice Walnut from Jeff Estridge, on here, from Jackson, Ms.  The Honduran Mahogany has a nice chatoance to it also and it was hand picked by a Natchez, Ms. lumber man in Beliz.  With the total box length at 7 inches, it fits nicely in most hunting pockets.  We like to carry a number of boxes with us to the woods, and this will cut space.  Should keep us from looking like Santa Clause when we head to the woods.  -----  Not.  The sound on this one is all Turpin with a nice rasp on the end that he likes.

There were two guys in Hatley today asking directions to the Mississippi Delta country...

They seemed familiar, for some reason.

I heard a loud Toyota about 3:00 this AM when I went out to the shop to work on a call.  Also thought I smelled a little exhaust smoke. ----- I will keep my short barrell 10 Ga. close.   ;)

L.T.,  I am mailing your copy with nice inscription from Wade tomorrow at no charge as promised.  He has taken them off the market completely now, as the original printing is running low. East of the Slash Cutting call to follow my friend.
