Title: Redwood and Maple Pair

I had a customer send me a couple of pieces of rare instrument grade Redwood and wanted a matched pair of boxes.
I tried several different combos that all sounded good, but I settled on the Quarter Sawn Maple because of the contrast.
Notice how tight the growth rings are.
This Redwood is highly sought after by certain Native American tribes for use in making their musical flutes.

Mr Clayton, ya done it again. Classy looking clean calls there. The owner of those FINE calls should be elated.
I am sure it was a pleasure to work with that special wood---that redwood really has great grain anf the maple looks great on it also.
