We killed enough gobblers last spring in Marion county to have a one week fall hen season.

You would have had four weeks in Tucker county Jory.

You lucky devil! *gobble*

Good for you, I always use fall to help cut down the aggrevation of hens messing you up in the spring! Good luck! *up*

Fall is a great time to hunt... Congrats and enjoy the bonus season !!

Fall season is a great time to be in the woods. We always use it to go more traditional with blackpowder and stuff. Plus it is a good time to bowhunt for turkeys...and a nice deer or 2. *up*

Really looking forward to hunting with cutter this fall, I've been seeing lots of poults here in Pa, Hopefully my fall goes better then my spring.

Glad someone is seeing polts. I have seen a total of 11 this year and a total of 15 OLD hens. Just seen 2 old hens eating blackbearries and they were by thereself. Watched them in the edge of an hay field for about 30 min. The hatch here in Mercer Co. WV sucks. I will try and find me a Fall county and hunt old gobblers. I bowhunt most of the time. But I truly do love to hunt Fall Gobblers. Good luck to all this Fall.

The hatch here in Nicholas county seems to be a little strange this year. Last week I saw two different groups of birds. One group had a couple hens and what looked to be about 20 little ones. Those poults were appeared to be half grown. The next day in a area about 5 miles away I saw a hen with two little ones and they could barely fly. I'd say they were about 3 wks old. I'm glad to see them open up a few of the Northern counties. Good luck to all.

Im looking forward to the fall season as well. In Preston County we get 2 weeks for a season.
Steve if you want you could always come a little northeast and have another week of opprotunity. The offer is on the table.

I might just do that. You aren't that far.

Seen a hen yesterday with 6 polts in Greenbrier Co. WV. Seen 5 differant old hens today, 0 polts with them. Mercer Co. is in trouble the next few years. If my count is right this is 20 hen total this Spring and Summer with NO polts.

Our population here in the southwest WV seems to be about normal. That is how its been the last couple years. After a population dip a few years back we seem to have stablized. That is a good thing I guess. All the birds appear to be healthy. Probably years before we ever see a fall season.
