Title: Malaysian Blackwood Trumpet

I got some of this wood in on Friday and had to cut it up and make a trumpet. This stuff is beautiful wood. It's got a dark green tint to it. So here is a Malaysian blackwood trumpet with a brass ferrule and a buffalo horn mouthpiece.

Nice, Joe. That Malaysian Blackwood is some pretty stuff. I have enough of it to build 14 trumpets, but it's not dry enough yet. I've been looking forward to turning it...now even more! Did you finish it with CA?

No Mike I just sprayed it with lacquer. It plays as good as it looks. I love that green looking grain. I also have a few pieces that are not dry enough to turn.

It's 3 x 3 x 12 in the pic, but it's been cut into 1.5 x 1.5" pieces. Should be dry enough next month.
