Anybody have an opinion on wood species for a striker that will be used with a ceramic pot call? Lay it on me brothas' !

Dymondwood or colorwood works good .

Ironwood worked well on the Andy Kaiser Ceramic call I used this Spring. I also used a dymondwood striker made by Bill Lyman. I killed my second bird this year with this combo.

Ironwood worked well on the Andy Kaiser Ceramic call I used this Spring. I also used a dymondwood striker made by Bill Lyman. I killed my second bird this year with this combo.

As a general rule, I like strikers that also sound well on slate.  For me these are high pitched strikers without as much rasp inherent as some. 

A few that sound good on ceramic to me include Persimmon, Granadillo and Tropical Almond....  *up*
