$20 wasted. I tested this new line in 12lb after seeing it hyped on TV. I does cast about 30% farther than 10lb test Trilene XL because it is thinner and slicker. I checked the line after each catch and began to see a pattern of abrasion a few inches above where the lures or swivel attached. I took off several inches often and made sure my guides were clean. Still the abrasion would show up. It was after I lost a favorite Hulapopper that I looked at the break and it was clean, not at the area where the popper was tied on but a few inches above it and the line showed no abrasion. This puzzled me, so I took 2 feet of 10 lb Trilene and 3 feet of the 12 lb Nanofil, connected each with loops and stretched them. I did this three times. Each time the Nanofil broke clean a few inches above where the two lines were connected. Beats me, but I can't trust the Nanofil so it went in the trash. Not to mention that tying the knots with it requires good finger dexterity.
