Title: Finally dropped the hammer.
Post by: West Augusta on May 05, 2012, 05:51:36 AM
18 pounds 3 ounces
1 3/8" and 1 5/16" spurs with a 9 7/16" beard.
I called he and two hens into range with a Brian Mero Snakewood and Ivory trumpet.
Shannon, that lanyard sure is sweet.

Fantastic Steve...yipee!!!  *up* *up* and to do it with a 'new' call even better.  Came might close today myself...had  3 birds working well, but they just wouldn't close--had a blast nonetheless.

That's what it's all about Scott. Some of my best hunts the safety never came off.

Well, I have to admit the safety did some off for the first go round...finally realized he wasn't gonna break so I switchhed up and called to the hen I figured he was with and it worked,  Got her all riled up and brought her in with him in tow, but still for some reason he stayed just back far enough and would clear the small rise...he was a 30 yds and off came the safety...he needed 2-3 steps and he was riding home...but alas to be another day.
