Title: Becoming a redneck...or hillbilly?

Okay, so during my scouting trip yesterday I was clearing the leaves and sticks from 2 trees for my setups and when doing so I could smell onions and leeks at the same time, huh, I thought.  An hour or so later while cruising for sign I could smell them again and looked down at my feet to see these little stalks of green, I kicked some and well you know the rest--yep, RAMPS!!!  Guess I might be becoming a hillbilly cause I dug a mess of them lil buggers and brought them home...my wife absolutely loves them and said "go get more"!  The pics don't lie...and thankls LT and Steve T for the enlightenment *cool*  Went and got more and man did they go great with venison sausage *up*

Great in fried potatoes. Or saute the greens in bacon grease.
Don't pick them all, don't tell anyone where or what they are.
Transplant a few to another similar location.

I hear when stored in Popcorns Moonshine---it really give the firewater a great palatibility  *up*

I have heard of Ramp wine but never Ramp Shine.  You could be on to something.  *lol*

Oh I knew I opened myself to plenty from y'all and also knew the Popcorn stuff would soon come...no problem, bring it on, I asked for it.  Sure take advantage of the yankee...right when I open up a little ya step on my guts.  Gotta admit though, the "RampShine" has a ring to it ROTFLMBO *bannana* *lol*

Either way Scott..yer in good company.  The term "Redneck" did originate here in Hatfield and McCoy country.  Blair mountain is walking distance from home.  Or walking distance to a long legged turkey hunter on a mission!  Bout 5 miles or so. And then up... ;)

Tasty little morsels of the spring woods.  You can freeze them if you want. They wilt down but cook up perfectly good in tators or such.  We used to dry them in dehyrator and them sprinkle them in stuff too.

Well I gatherd up more and we had them with "taters" tonight and more venison...mighty fine I'll tell ya...mighty fine!
