A thief. Somebody stole our log splitter last night. My uncle and I made it back in the mid eighties. It should be fairly easy to find. It didn't have highway bearings in the wheels and the tires were old. Plus, how many four cylinder, four speed log splitters with a radio, speedometer and cigarette lighters could there be in north central West Virginia. Ol snakeboots would have loved it. The 24R motor and transmission were out ot a seventies something Corolla. It was getting a little hard to start but once running you could split a forest in an afternoon.

A guy went into my barn while I was feeding my cattle on Christmas day and he stole my battery charger/booster. Nothing makes me more mad than a thief. When we caught him, I told him if I ever saw him on my property again I would shoot him on sight! Hope you get that splitter back.

That sounds like a one-of-a-kind for sure Steve, when you find it make sure you accidentally put their hands in the proper place before exercising the cylinder! Of course if they could not seem to get their hand out of the way before it cycled forward who would it be that could say it was not an "accident"!

Steve, I hate that happened. Prob. a pill head. Seems like more and more of this kind of thing going on. If you haven't cut and split all the trees around there maybe you can string em up when he gets caught.

Well, the Wetzel county sheriff, the next county up, called the city police and said that they retrieved a log splitter with a Toyota motor and tranny that had been sitting along a back road for three weeks.
The exhaust was ripped off and is very dirty but it's all there including the battery.
We went and brought it home tonight.

Good news glad you got it back! That is quite a splitter all it needs is a steering wheel you could drive it around. The neatest looking splitter I have ever laid eyes on. *aah* Hope they find the crook's and run them through that thing.

We took the hitch off of it so it isn't going anywhere from now on.
