Title: Birthday Surprise!
Post by: GR8CALLS on February 28, 2012, 08:10:08 PM: Like the special BD surprise that Jeff received, my wife surprised me, too, on my BD! She bought me a trumpet call from Ralph Permar. This is one of Ralph's new designed, wire inlaid trumpets, done in Walnut and Ivory. Nothing like a good woman to bring a smile to your face!

Yep, that's the one. I was thinking about buying it but when I talked to Ralph, he said it was sold and that whom ever bought it was picking it up later that day. *aah* Should have guessed who bought it, but never gave it another thought! I suggest we keep these fine ladies, away from each other......... ROTFLMBO ROTFLMBO ROTFLMBO Although, I have some nice furniture for your wife to look at. I'll send her a catalogue............ ;) ;)

Post by: Old Geezer on March 01, 2012, 11:20:36 AM: Bill, I see you found out who bought the call. The inlay is taken from some ingraving on an old gun. Curved lines are much easier to do than straight because of the wood grain. Your photos really show off the detail. Thanks for posting.

This year I made sure that she knows Mike Lapp and she has instruction to get my gift from him ! LOL !! That is a beautiful call and I can't wait to get one for myself . !
