ShadeTree yelpers
« on: December 22, 2011, 09:59:58 AM »
I had a request recently , to make some wingbone calls using the wings from the first turkey killed by the Father of a friend . When I peeled the wings open , three of the necessary bones were broken . So I decided to complete them using river cane from Eminence . The joints are thread wrapped and I scrimshawed the feathers onto the cane . The lip-stops are made from amboyna burl .They both came out very nice and are very easy to play . They break over in a 2 note yelp with little effort and kee kee nicely. Thanks for looking !

Bob, that's a shame about the bones, but you being a resourceful feller you did well, very well to give these yelpers new life
