My Favorite spring season Bird.
« on: September 22, 2009, 08:13:26 PM »
Well this spring I took the 10yr old out for her second spring youth hunting trip. This is what she came up with. Needless to say I was a VERY proud Daddy. The birds wings locked like they are in the picture. My favorite hunt by far and I didn't pull a trigger.

22lbs 1" spurs 10.55 beard (first bird ever)

And this is the bird I ended up with in the regular spring season. I am 6'8 to give you a scale of this big boy.

24lbs 1 1/4 spurs 9.5 beard

That's how memories are made for a lifetime. That is one happy little (beautiful) girl and one proud (kinda homely) Dad. That's what it's all about!

Thanks Buddy

CONGRATS! I know exactly how you felt.
On a side note...your daughters bird must have been shot at close range. That head looks wonderfully nasty! RkLu

Congrats to you both Richard.  *up*

My eldest nephew is old enough to hunt this year and I'm really looking forward to getting him out on a fall turkey hunt.  Looking forward to seeing the look on his face if he gets one.
