Totally confused Boss Gobbler

Son's brother in law called the other day with a wild turkey story.  I don't think I have ever heard of this.  This young man and his wife live out from Ashville, NC on a mountain near the camp where he is a director.  Last year he called to say they were being awoken by gobbling and he got his turkey gear together and went out and killed a very nice turkey with one of my calls within site of the house.  Well, the other day, they were having breakfast and they heard all this noice at his wife' studio adjacent to their home.  She is an artist and Dan built her an large studio with full length glass windows all the way to ground level.  They look out and see this huge turkey bumping into the glass window fighting himself.  Monster of a turkey with about an 11 inch beard.  Jumping into the glass spurring it and chest bumping his reflection in the glass.  By the time he got his camera, the fight had ending and the winner troted off into woods as they usually disperse after a fight.  Wish he had gotten it on video.  Never heard of that.

That happens with alot of wild animals . Deer jump through store fronts all the time when they see their reflection .  Birds are especially susceptible for some reason . They will fly into windows and peck at themselves looking at their reflection .

I have seen it with small birds and domestic turkeys.  I know a farmer that had a domestic turkey that would strut to any car that pulled in the driveway bumping the tires.
