Can you see the Tom in the shadow?

? when I was walking up a small hill on the ridge I thought it would be a neat picture...
Short version...About 20 mins late up the mountain..nary a gobbler. Walked 1/2 mile down then back up a logging road, you know, the kind that makes ya sick when you get to the top. that was work!
anyways, I head down the ridge to a spot behind a church that I hunted in an afternoon last Friday, nothing then, no gobbles now. Bummer.. Unhook from my Dixon vest, yelp some on the mouth call, hit the slate...nothing. So I reckon I will just sit and enjoy the morning breeze and let the sun dry me out after the hike back n forth...I sure was sweaty.
I grab my trusty 870 with the IC .660 and Magblends, sitting there with my face mask down around my neck when I see movement out of the corner of my left eye and I FREEZE....
3 Toms running at me?

25 yards n coming fast, that is until the first one see's my pale face and exits stage left back down the mountain. I swing my Remington and get on a blue head as it starts down hill..bang. As I watch 2 Toms fly off I pump another Magblend and start running.
Yeehaw...dbl beard down!

I have never been one to count my beards n spurs before the hunt...but this rock I passed by while walking down a saddle on a ridge, well I could almost envision a dead gobbler on it...
