The Black Hole Traveling Call
« on: March 29, 2011, 07:26:19 AM »
I donated a Gator Gobbling Stribling style traveling call that has wood figuring like a black hole on the lid (Pictures included).  This was for a group of Ms. Turkey hunters that have been purchased a lot of my calls.  It is traveling Ms. and later Oklahoma that I know of.  There is a journal that goes with it, and the call and journal will be auctioned for the benefit of the Ms. Group at the end of the season.

Just got this update from a Ms. Hunter after one near kill last week.

We have now put two (2) notches* in the Black Hole Call...one yesterday morning and one this morning! Despite wind, rain, thunder and cold, these gobblers were hot! I'm telling you, the Black Hole must be emanating some sort of turkey-attracting aura.

Who's next?

*Notches are figurative, but the gobblers were very much real!

That is a beautiful call John. Yhat black hole is cool. Great thing you are doing. Your calls are some of the best sounding calls I have heard. Scott says he is getting a bird with his and he only going to get to hunt 4 days all season because of his teaching schedule!

John that is an awesome story.  When Daryl (Larry) and I head to KS... I hope to pull out a few secret weapons he does not have... that should be the difference between me succeeding and him succeeding :)

I have two Stribling callers and I doubt I share  *up*

Those calls you make are very intriguing for some reason...in a good way that is.  The idea of sharing this call is a very cool idea and I lok forward to hearing the end results.  Can't wait to try one out muself sometime.---Jason

Just got another report that the Blackhole traveling call just sucked in #3.  Can't wait to read the journal at the end of the season.
