My much-anticipated copper pot from Daryl Slaton came yesterday. I had been looking for a copper pot and finally tracked down Daryl. He was kind enough to call me that evening, play the call for me, and chat about call-making (which I know nothing about) and turkey hunting.
Daryl said that the only copper pot he had was the one he made for his own vest, but that I could have that one if I liked it, or he would make me another one. I of course said, I want the call that you made for yourself!
The pot looks awesome, and I love the striker so much that I wear it around my neck. I'll probably cry for a week, if I ever lose either one in the woods.
But does it sound good? Is it able to play the tunes that bring in the big boys? Well, I can tell you that there are two gobblers that would attest to its performance, were they still alive this evening!
