Flared tip VS straight tip

Interested in the flared tip striker......I've never run one, so I'm interested in what it will do for a call as compared to a straight tipped striker....

I prefer the flared tip, it seems to have better control plus allows for a thinner striker.

BINGO but I like a smaller flare tip striker with a thinner shaft.

I got a flaired tip laminated striker yesterday at Gander Mountain......

    It is user friendly for sure......It will run on angles, that a straight tip will not....

    I'm headed out this morning with 5 calls, that flair tip, some straight tips, and my digital recorder to find out which combo sounds best in the woods.......

I like both. I like medium to regular flared tip. Not to big is what I am trying to say. I do not think I have many custom striker that do not have some type of flare to there tip. I think I like flared tip the most.

Did some recording this morning.....@ 30 yards w/ a digital recorder....

     Can't say that the flair tip did any better getting the sound out of a call, then my straight tips did......

     The flair tip sounded best on glass from what I heard ......

     To my ear the straight tip gives a sharper sound, because of less surface contact......

I don't see how you get a whole lot of sound out of those "flour" tipped strikers myself. Do you put a touch of glue on there before you apply the flour? Which runs the best the bleached or unbleached?

           Have you ever tryed sugar? It tends to grip a bit better than flour and when you need a little pick me up after chasing those long beards all morning you can lick it like a lolly pop..

I like and use both, it depends on the call and the weather which one I run.

I've used both and like both on different calls...... I have never tried a Floured tip....  . I can't knock it till I tried It. You might be on to something there Porter...
