Time for a New Call?

            It's to late in the spring to get started with any of the air operated calls, IF you can't already run one....

            To much to learn about them in a short period of time, will frustrate you allot...You'll end up putting the call up on the shelf on mast frustration....

            Any of those three would work fine......Just get a good one to start your program with....as Bill mentioned...

Thanks a bunch, this is just what I was hoping for and also thanks to those who sent PM's--all very helpful.

I really had no delusions of being able to master such a call before the season starts, but then it isn't till May 1st and I have a 45 minute drive to and from work each day, so I might have a shot at it

I am fairly certain I will go with a trumpet and as I gain confidence I'll look to move add a wingbone for next year.  Now the hard work starts, who to call on for the trumpet....hummmm does anyone know any decent trumpet makers I could call??

I do like the trumpet . Wingbone has a sound of its own ,,,as does the trumpet . My trumpet has a lot smaller mouthpiece than my hen bone . If I practiced too much with the wingbone my lip would really get tender and sore . Ain't never happened with the trumpet . The small diameter mouthpiece doesn't require a tight lipped pinch . Just let the lipstop do the sealing .
I'm very satisfied with the trumpet ,,,,,pulling 5 old hens from the roost and having them run up the hill to me on opening day last fall was sure enough satisfaction ,,,and a whole lot of fun.

 It's amazing how some fellers can get all the turkey out of a wingbone ,,,,I ain't one of them fellers .
