Hevi-13 #7's
« on: March 15, 2011, 05:41:51 PM »
When I ordered my Hevi-13's #6's for the year from Dunn's they sent me a box of #7's by accident.  I  shoot 3" 2 oz #6's in my Benelli M2.   I kept them since it would have been a pain to send them back and I can always shoot ducks with them.  Well I went out to shoot a few as of the 6's to day to make sure everything is still them same so I shot 1 of the 7's.  Kind of impressed.  I'm not a pellet counter normally, I just look for a nice even 20" pattern but I counted the 7's after I shot them.  270 in the 10" circle and 550 in the 20"  at 40 yards. Now I will have see how they perform on a turkey.

Funny thing about the mix up with Dunn's.  When I called them they said they wish they knew the mistake.  They sold out of 7's and wanted more.  Also funny Glen M tipped me off to there good price on Hevi-13 and the same thing happen to him.  They sent 1 box of 7's accidently.  There order pickers are consistant!!!

Anyone have expirience with #7 hevi-13?  Not sure how they would penetrate at 40 yards?  I will have to shoot one into a phone book or wood etc.

Since H-S came out w/ the 7's, they are all I shoot. Hevi 7's penetrate like lead 5's. Turkeys, beware!

No worries at all w/ the 7 shot as Bill & Tim said......

They put the hammer on a gobbler's head for sure......

     That's a great count @ 40 yard..... RkLu

Good luck with them this spring......Z

I shoot the Federal hw #7's 20ga, they hold a tight pattern and will smoke a turkey!  But hold the gun tight, it will pop the lip!

I set up an 870 with the same load and a SSX tube.  Shoots awesome.  Almost too tight.  The Federal HW's are even heavier than the Hevi-13 so they will hit harder.

Shot my first bird this year in Florida with the Hevi 7s and it put the smack down on him!

You got the right load! *up*
