Green Swamp Scenery
« on: February 09, 2011, 05:54:49 PM »
I went out scouting again today..saw some turkeys ..one of which was a red phase hen..I didn't get any turkey pics...but I did take some pictures of the area around my homestead in the Green Swamp in Central Florida where I regularly hunt.

Beautiful place Charlie! Lot of Palm and Palmetto and I love the Bus!! Find a few snakes around that thing!

That old bus was "Pappy's Camp" and outfitted with beds and a cook stove...but that was before the government took the land...Pappy was a descendant of some of the early settlers in this area ...I didn't check it for snakes today ;D

Nothing like the different terrain of hunting birds across this country..... Cabbage palms, live oaks of Florida.  The mixed hardwood hills and pine plantation of the eastern.  The fields of cactus and blue bonnets in west Texas on a rio hunt.....The black hills and mountains out west chasing the merriams..........Gotta love it... ;D

That is some beautiful country. One of my best hunts was in Florida along the St. Johns River. I love that area!  *up* *up* *up*

Bill, I often hunt in Marion County along the St. Johns River...beautiful country and lots of turkeys... and bears..That is a good looking Osceola you have there...and looks like an old cow pen  behind you.

Porter, why would be thinking snakes when you are sitting in 8 degrees below zero??!!..My brain would be frozen!!
