upside downer..
« on: February 08, 2011, 07:08:01 PM »
I must be confused.   ::) Been meaning to try this for a while.  Just curious I guess. Walnut on wormy chestnut. Sides angled IN 5 deg at the top. A non matching cherry base just for the heck of it. Angled the maple insets and walnut endblocks just for kicks. Matched the wide parquet insets with wide inlay on the lid. Actually it sounds pretty decent. Kinda of a straight sided Turpin pulled inside out. I guess the moral of this story..if there is one...is "If you always do what you always did, you always get what you always got". So if what you are doing is working...DON'T DO THIS! It was a major pain to tune!

Sure, it was tough to tune, but I applaud your creativity and guts to 'step out of the box"  hee hee hee ;D and try something different.  Your woodworking skills are inspirational and thanks for letting us peek into your mind--however twisted it might be :o

LT, Now that is unusual ( and probably unique) as turkey calls go,,,,I have an old goose caller that is angled in on the sides...but that is the first turkey caller I have seen done that way..
Pretty nice looking wood working.
