A great day

We took the big dogs to the woods this morning. On the way in we had 20 birds standing in the pasture. Not supposed to be this easy but once in a while you get lucky. When the birds got to the woods we turned the dogs loose and got the worst break in history. Half down one side and half down the other. We went on down the valley and pushed birds out of trees in all directions. Things were looking better. Jamie and I set up on one side and Jason and Gary on the other. 20 minutes later we made the first call and both groups had birds calling from all around the hill. These birds kee Keed and hen yelped and gobbler yelped and gobbled. I could have killed two but Jamie was not able to see them. Finally we had to turn the dogs loose again and reposition. When we started calling a young gobbler came screaming down the hill right at us. Just as he stepped in sight kee kee went crazy because a bubble bee was under the cover with her. Soon I heard Jason shoot and we had a young hen killed. Right after this we had a young gobbler come right in but again not in Jamie's line of sight. Then all went quiet. Jamie and I took kee kee and walked about two miles and she broke another flock. It was on again. After 30 minutes I made a call on the paddle and as fast as he could run a young gobbler came from 300 yards below. ( zumer you shot a young gobbler on this same bench) Jamie missed this one. Another call on the paddle and an other gobbler came running up the hill. Bang dead bird flopping down the hill with kee kee and Jamie on the chase.    They won and to the check station we went.

Sooner---if ya dont take better care of Cutter, I am going to drive back up there and bring her down here where the winters are alot better *peep*.
C O N G R A T S  on what sounds like another great day there.
Ya really know how to make a man HOMESICK. Gotta tell ya----I am still just as happy about everything as when we saw cutters first victim !!!!

Great hunt and thanks for sharing!!!  You make me really want to hunt over dogs now!
