What is the thickness of glass used in calls? I see .080 but I'm not sure if that's millimeters or what. Can anyone help?

I have done google searches along with this forum and others but can find no results.

That would be inch units.

I just got done looking at your pictures also. All I can say is WOW!! I wish I could take pics like that. I've got the equipment, just not the know-how.

MKW, it's just like anything else. Practice makes perfect.

The best thing anyone can do when working with photography is to understand the relationship between shutter speed and apeture. Once that clicks, everything else starts to fall in line.

The thing that may help you the most is to put the camera on manual mode and force yourself to think out your shots instead of letting the camera do it for you. This will slow you down a ton and you may miss a bunch of shots to begin with but it will make you a better photographer.

Thanks for the advise. I will certainly try to put it to use. I have a Canon 50D and a 70-200mm F2.8 Macro lens.

Is that the Canon 70-200 2.8? If so, that's a dandy lens!!! You should be able to get great results without doing much if that's the set up you are using 

If you are out shooting wildlife, just to get started, try shooting in Av mode and set your apeture to 4. You can leave your camera on auto ISO if you want but for a rule of thumb if it's bright & sunny and you are in the open go with 100 ISO if it's cloudy go with 400 and if you are in the woods you may have to increase to 800. Early in the morning just after flydown you may be stuck using F/2.8 and 1600 or 3200 ISO. It sucks but it's better than not getting a pic!!!

I would love to be able to take pictures like that too.....But I really really wish I could bow hunt where you take the pictures !!!!

Thanks again. Actually, my lens is a Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 II, APO, EX, DG, Macro. Whatever all that means?? I got this set-up as a birthday present last year and I can take some decent pics, but nothing as crisp as yours.
Anyway, I'm sorry for derailing your thread question. Thanks for the help.
