Sharp looking call Bob! Good to see someone else sharing a little call making history on the Do Dat call and respect for Neil as a callmaker.
Thanks Dave. anyone who has read "magic with wood " knows how much we ALL owe to Mr Neil Cost. If it weren't for him ,turkey calls would not have been elevated to the level of custom craftmanship that they are now. He not only broke new ground but he changed callmaking for ever. I call my line of Cost longboxes, "shades of Neil" out of pure respect for what he left behind.
I am a bit of a history buff so when I got into call collecting I jumped in deep and there reall is an amazing history to the turkey call . From the little hen bones used by the indians thousands of years ago, to the Whitts, Martins, Permars and Balds of today.( Didn't leave anyone out intentionally) The turkey call is a truly american artform in my opinion. Neil set the modern standard for sure though.
