"Segmented Pot Call" ...
« on: August 28, 2009, 08:03:36 AM »
... here's one I'm very proud of from Mr. Glen Marrer of Finger Lakes Custom Calls, & I can't thank Glen enough for takin' the time on this one for me ... *bowing*

This is a four layer Segmented Pot that Glen wanted to turn for me, instead of his normal three layered version ... *cool*
This very special Slate Pot Caller is made up of Bird's Eye Maple, Walnut, Cherry & Padauk with Mahogany between all the pieces ...
The Striker is Bird's Eye Maple surrounded by Walnut, Mahogany, & Padauk ...

... the last pic is with a brighter flash to try to show the true colors of the different woods Glen used in this call ...
... that flash was just too much for the backside finish ...  :o ... so, sorry the pics really don't do Glen's most excellent work any justice ...
... this FLCC caller is "pure turkey"; as are the other pots from Glen; & I really am extremely pleased with the way it turned out ... RkLu RkLu

... hope you guys like it ... Jim

"would sure hate to hav' to pick between the two of 'em"                                                                                     TFM 101 ... ::)

There was some serious glueing time put into that call. I cannot imagine coordinating all those pieces in that call. One for the books for sure.... RkLu
Dare to be different.........
