Ya know....you take any number of guys, and they may well all play the same call differently, there are so many variations it can make these written words confusing to anyone (me) reading this. But again, no one was talking kee till you brought it up. Lets talk plain yelps.
If you contrict your hand over the end you can get the higher pitch
I would think only if you incease the airflow/draw harder? Yes, then I can is how it could, you would be increasing the velocity greatly. All thing staying the same, I would think it would "seem" lower.
Cupping your hand will help with the break and a big cup will lower the tone.
Thats what I am saying! "opposite" of the statement made earlier in the thred. Constrict your hand....cup your hand.... seems like the end effect would be the same.... restricted air flow.
Whatever you put in front of the bell, I would think could act like a mute? From one of your statements it seems you agree that the sound would be quieted/lowered? You say that cup and constrict are 2 different things...As soon as I do either....cup/constrict..... the percieved pitch (to me) drops... it may be just a word thing...maybe tone vs pitch ... sharp/muffled
Seems your awful hung up on the identity thing... Would it be any easier for you to explain your point just cause you know my name? If I hadn`t been around these forums for years, I wouldn have no idea who you are. I didn`t know identity was a prerequisite to ask question on this forum.
