Anyone Have a Pellet Stove? Or Coal!!! UPDATE!!!

I have a 2 story house w/ basement, Have a split system Forced Hot Air/AC unit in Basement & Attic, Runs on Propane, Need to put some sort of heat in the Finished Basement , The Unit in the basement mostly heats the 1st floor , Not really the basement, I was thinking of either putting in a Pellet stove to heat basement & 1st floor or  a Rinnia Propane Heater for the Basement.

Looking for any Help or Comments!!!

Got a Keystoker 105 installed Friday, It works Great, Baesment was 62 degrees now 85, 1st floor 75 & upstairs 69, That's just keeping my cellar door open & cut 1 return in my top step for the up stairs (2nd floor), Used about 50lbs of coal so far.

Quadrafire, top of the line. Awesome. Takes very little fuel (Pellets) to but out some BTUH. When we moved added a Quadrafire wood burning insert to a masonary fireplace. Best money I ever spent! Both cut my propane use by 80%.

I have a pellet stove and I really like it.  Not sure that mine would heat the basement and first floor though.  I have heated my approx. 1600 SF house with it for a couple winters.  Now we have a heatpump and mostly use it on really cold days (like today!!  BRRRR!! 16 degrees) to take the chill off.  Not sure of the brand name anymore, it is about 7 years old now.

I just finished  project today. My fuel oil furnace gave up the ghost three years ago . We have a fireplace with an insert stove with blowers . Also we have the heat pump ,,,,,,and an old house that only has insulation in the attic .

Friend of mine gave me a fine wood burner with a blower system on it . I cut the bottom off my old fuel oil tank , and hinged a door in each end . The trash heap at work had a plate of steel with 1 1/2 inch angleiron welded to it . It turned out that the cut off oil tank fit right on the plate . The stove sits on the plate , and the oil tank is nothing more than a small house to keep most of the elements off the stove and blower . Chimney pipe on one side and the blower pushes hot air through an insulated 6 inch pipe into my crawl space . The floor is not insulated and the heat warms the floor and comes right on up . It's a lot cheaper to run that little fan than the heat pump ,,,,,,,,,,,and I have access to unlimited firewood .

Decided to go with a Keystoker Rice Coal Stove, 105,000 BTU, Talking to places that sell both Pellet & Coal , They recommend Coal, It is Cheaper for the Unit & About Twice as cheap for the cost of Fuel material to run (1 ton of coal + to 2 ton of Pellets) Coal is $175/ton, Pellets $240/ton, The BTU's are almost double, 105,000, Compared to 68,000.
