got a Poplar under Walnut put together tonight
« on: February 03, 2010, 08:10:52 PM »
Here is one I made from some old poplar I got my hands on. It is supposed to be 100 year old wood. I am not sure if its mineral or heart. Its the first wood I have got there and its got a greenish tint. It sounds great and I have hardly messed with it any --hope I don't tune it out  ROTFLMBO ROTFLMBO!!
Sorry for the pics---got it together and just couldn't wait till tomorrow where I coulsd shoot pics outside. Heck I didn't even clean it off from what little tuning I have done so far.
If someone wants to tell me wheither I have heart or mineral wood here--remember I am a car man---not a logger---I would appreciate it ROTFLMBO RkLu ROTFLMBO!!

Jeff,

Great looking call. In my opinion one of the best wood combos for a turkey call.

Nice caller Jeff! That's heart poplar. No matter how many woods you try, you'll never beat poplar for consistently good sounding boxes!!!  *up* Good job.
