Wiltz, I couldn't agree with you more. Great bunch of people on here and Porter runs this site in a way that's not one sided with opinions which allows us to have debates like this.

I use them occasionally. I have killed a whole lot more without a decoy than with a decoy. I killed 4 gobblers last spring and 3 were without and one was with a DSD.

I have two I use occassionally on public land a Blaze Orange hen and a jake, never had much luck with them though.

Haven't used them in several years. Just something I personally choose to do.  I never feel at a disadvantage without them, just as I never feel at a disadvantage toting my lil' 20 ga.

On public land up here in PA, I would never use a decoy. On private land every great once in a while, I'll get a decoy out if I get on a bird that is a little stubborn, I'll try to see if he gives in! I had a fella in SC come running up on a edge of a field, with his gun up ready to shoot, I had to scream at him so he didn't kill my decoy!

I once had a young Bobcat put the stalk on my ugly hen..... Got about three inches away from the hen ...... Turned and ran off..... I was hoping the bobcat would take the decoy out...... I wish a had a camera then. Everybody has a choice, that's what's great about  Hunt them the way you like!

Well one of my decoys didn't make it last spring.  The farmers Angus Bull took it out.  I was about 20 yards away too.  I can't climb a tree, so I was hoping he wouldn't take anymore anger out on me. 

I'll not be replacing that decoy.  The farmer told me the Bull was tame.... I'm not sure the decoy thought the same

I have used and on occasion still do use decoys but prefer not.  For some reason I have never ever harvested a gobbler off a decoy hunt.  Sometimes I think a decoy does more harm than good, or at least by my experiences.  However, a decoy hunt can be fun and interesting.  Thats my 2 cents.
