19 years later and this day still gives me the cringes... I'll never forget where I was at when the TV there reported the first plane had went through.  They thought a pilot possibly had a heart attack and flew a small plane in the tower...  right then, as talking on tv.. the second plane hit.

I was out of town at a conference at the Lake of the Ozarks.  Cell towers were quickly overran and I had to call my wife from the hotel room.  I remember telling her to go get gas in her vehicle and I did the same.  Rumors of our gas supply line being hit were going rampant everywhere.  She said the line in our small town, was miles long.  She waited almost 3 hours to get gas :(

Never felt so mad in my life.  It was the first horrific item I'd ever lived through.  Yes the Gulf War had happened and the Oklahoma City bombing, but never had my generation witnessed an attack on our soil at this magnitude.  I remember looking up in the sky, days after, and no planes flying.

For my sons sake, I hope his generation never witnesses anything even close to this.

I love this country (even though it seems to be going crazy now) and I'll always stand for freedom.

Never forget and God Bless the USA!!!

i was in a morning production meeting.  Ended up watching a live stream all day.   The American Flag pin that I wore all the rest of that year is still on my turkey hunting hat.  I'll take it off today and wear it but tomorrow, it goes back on my hat.   USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA

I was working at a power plant and the local airport was very close. We had the radio and computers on and watching the skies. I will never forget that day. That night, all churches near me were packed as people gathered for prayer.

I remember being on a production line at the time. I remember someone coming out of the office, and telling us that the first tower had been hit. I truly didn't think much of it at the time. Then someone came and told us about the second tower, then the Pentagon, and then about the towers collapsing, and then the plane going down in PA. It was hard for me to wrap my mind around, because we had no way to see it. Just what we were being told by others.

Then when I got home, and started seeing the videos, and the news coverage, I truly didn't know what to think.

In the days that followed, I can remember being so proud of all of the patriotism that everyone was showing. But, inside I was struggling. At the age of 24, I was trying to prepare myself to get drafted, and go to war. I had accepted the fact that I would be drafted, but, it killed me, knowing I would have to tell my mom goodbye, quite possibly for the last time.
