Well, I got my turpin-style ebonized walnut over snakebelly sycamore from Mr. E at the end of May, but I apparently forgot to post the pictures of it. These pictures really don't do it justice (not to mention I see a hair or two in the one with the top hat
) - you really have to see it in real time. It is my first from Mr. E., and it is a beauty! The snakebelly sycamore is magical; it has a different look depending on the light, which I tried to show in the pictures. This is my first run-in with the ebonized walnut, and I like it a lot!
I kept this one in my man cave for quite awhile before transferring it to my cedar call chest with the rest of my calls. It is my first turpin-style (non-hen box), and in my humble opinion, I'm making some pretty sweet turkey tunes with it now! It is chalked full of turkeys on both sides of the box. The hardest part will be deciding which side to run when it matters. I can’t believe I have to wait until next season to test it out in the field [I'm just getting over the post-season depression, maybe] . . .
