Wiltznucs, The group this morning was all longbeards...I watched them thru binocs for a good while and there were no jakes in the bunch. Back in late December or early January, before I got sick, I had a mixed flock of jakes and older gobblers doing some dominance fighting..but since then the gobbler flocks are smaller and I have seen very few jakes...but I know they are around because we had a big group of jakes going into early fall...I didn't mow my pasture this year so I am probably missing a lot of them in the tall grass... that and my neighbor planted 20 acres of rye so a lot of the birds are just not coming on my property...those this morning were in a cleared space where I could see them.........Charlie
