Am I NUTS?????

 Probably!  *fall* *fall* *fall*

 Bought some 3.25 inch slate and decided to "attempt" to use it in a 3.50 inch pot call. It fits...barely! So then I got the bright idea to drill it!?!?!?! Yes........drill it, the slate that is. After laying the hole pattern out, it wasn't to difficult to drill the slate. Any who, here it is. Glass over  Swiss Cheese slate. Excuse the date, I was not thinking!   *lol* *lol* *lol*

I've done that on some wood soundboards, it took a lot of the rasp out and made a good clean sounding call. Be interesting to what it does to a slate? I want to try cutting the center out, like a donut, that should increase the rasp with the soundboard being weaker?

I have two glued up with just the center drilled out. Waiting to see what that does. This one does have a very clear sound, much like a young hen,

I was going to drill mine out with a hole the same size as the pedestal opening. With a glass surface you should be able to kee kee out of the center of the call?
