Another Kelly Gem

I must admit that when I first saw Kelly Puckett's work as painting on calls and strikers I was very impressed but when I saw the wood burned paddle call she did for Ole Snakeboots (McKamey) I knew that I had to have something on a call from her.  I mentioned to Mike Lapp that I was going to do this and that I had an old unfinished call someone gave me years ago that I was going to send it to Kelly to do her magic.  Well Mike offered to build one for me and I sent it Kelly to have it wood burned.  I had an idea for the call and that was to have one side a fall scene.  I wanted something to remember a great hunt and time I had with Hobie, Mike Lapp and Austin Hornberger this past fall for my first turkey dog hunt.  The other side would be a classic spring scene and I left the lid design up to Kelly.  Below are the results of that endeavor without the final finish applied. I want to thank both Mike and Kelly for making this call a very special call for me.  Kelly has a real gift with her art work and Osage Roost is honored to have her as a valued member.  Hope you enjoy her work!

The word GEM is correct Bob, both the call and Kelly fit that category . I just love seeing whats next out of her shop. Great call by a great callmaker and artist alike. Like Bill said, bring it to breakfast next month to share.  NICE !!

That's a great looking call---just wait till ole Lapp add finishe to her and really watch the depth in the woodburning come out. Shes a beauty and I know you cherish the burning makes the call represent to you as a hunter....
