Glory Box Calls

I was digging through some old papers of my dad and found a letter about a call my dad must have had at one time. The call is part of the "Glory Box Calls" made by Ronald C Shealer. This paperwork tells a great story on where the wood for the box and the wood from the lid came from; both from Gettysburg, PA during the Civil War. The paperwork also documents this is the number #3 call in the set. I would really like to get the paperwork to the person who has this call.

Can everyone check over their collections and see if they have this call.

Your dad helped a Ron C. Shealer, who lived in Gettysburg, PA, develop his Roanoke style yelpers, along with Ralph Permar.  Just wondering if they are one in the same?

Dennis had no connection with Corry and I concerning Roanoke yelpers.   The Roanoke edition Corry and I produced together were some years before Dennis decided to make calls.  Dennis and I roomed together at two of the NWTF conventions.  He asked me one evening "How do you make your yelpers, I would like to make a few, just for fun".  The rest is history.

Yeah that sounds like dad, try something for fun and it turns into an addiction.

The call I am asking about isn't a yelper its a box call. It has a walnut and cedar box call.

Old Geezer is correct.  GR8CALLS - Sorry that write up was a bit misleading, it wasn't meant to be.  Dennis and I conversed regularly and I considered him a good friend.  He was a great guy that I remember fondly. He was making box calls and slate calls at that time along with his waterfowl and a few crow calls. We shared contacts, material info., thoughts about equipment but never too many specifics in regards to how we each made calls, mainly out of respect for each other.  We did swap a few calls.  My favorite slate is one he made that goes with me in the woods each spring.  Most importantly, we shared a lot of hunting stories!  If my memory is correct, I think Dennis was also one of the founders of the Custom Call site opening up the opportunity for a variety of makers to show their work and collaborate.  Old Geezer did all the research and specs for the Roanoke calls we put together, I was merely a hobbyist with too many irons in the fire, literally and figuratively at times.  Old Geezer continued on and took his skills to a whole new level.  Kevin if I hear anything more about that box call I will point them in your direction.
