The Good Ole USPS
« on: February 15, 2014, 12:25:16 PM »
I have been looking for a package from the USPS for a couple days from Harold Fowler. Harold told me he had sent it from Georgia on Tuesday. I went to the mail box today and still nothing. Our delivery service here is not the greatest and with the bad weather in Georgia this week I did not think a lot about it.

I had just walked back in the door from checking the mail and my phone rang. It was Rickey Padgett from South Carolina. I know what fine pot calls he makes and I at first thought he was going to tell me about one of them. But he told me he had a package delivered to his place today from Harold Fowler. He had not ordered anything from Harold but thought maybe Harold had sent him a care package. He opened it up and there were three strikers he knew belonged somewhere. He looked at the address on the package and it had my name and Arkansas address on it. Yet the package was delivered to his address in South Carolina. The only thing we could determine is that we have the same first names and our last names start with a P. If someone would like to venture a guess as how this happened I would love to hear it. I wonder how often stuff like this happens. Luckily for me it went to a guy who knows me and is honest.

That's the USPS for you. A few years ago my wife sent a pair of Nike's to our son in Seattle and they were delivered (according to USPS) to a house in Fla. I'm halfway in between! Never did get them back they ended up paying us for them. I've constantly had problems mailing packages and receiving them from FedEx and USPS, so nothing would surprise me. It's a little comforting knowing it's just not me it happens, too. *cry*

I sent a call off to NH a couple years ago. It went to NY first, then on to MS, then to VA, after that it went to SC, then back to TN, then to NY again. He finally got his call about the end of March, I sent it mid Jan. that thing covered the whole East Coast. It took us forever to chase it down.

I sent a call out LAST February Rickey....the only one for some reason I didn't keep or lost the tracking number.  It still hasn't shown up.  I figure some USPS line worker got a turkey call or it got ate by some monster mail processing machine....BUT hearing the stories...maybe there is still hope.  Check the zip on the package?  It all starts and ends with that.

Rickey you are lucky you did get those.  I mailed a package to Richard Hudson and after 5 weeks, it came back to me.  I'm not sure what the heck happened, but they ate the cost of sending it back to him!
